Four years ago, I stood at a window in New York’s JFK International Airport, a one-way ticket in my hand. I looked at the Air France plane that would take me across the Atlantic. Seven hours later, I stepped onto French soil. It felt like home. It felt like a dream.
Mine is a story of late-blossoming dreams. In 2018 I won a grant to go to France and explore the country I had always wanted to visit. I walked the streets of my ancestors. I met a French cousin. I saw the beauty I had always imagined. I didn’t want to leave.
Stepping from that Air France flight, I could not have known what lay ahead. Joys, hardships, beauty, all of it. Four years later, I know this for certain:
I am Wendy. Writer. Dreamer. Author of action. I am in France. I am making a beautiful life.
There is so much life in this life.

Wenderful Shirts
I loved it before knowing who’d sent it. My
favorite T-shirt arrived in the mail without a return address. Will Write for Change was printed in strong letters on the front of the shirt. I believed it had come from the universe. It was a gift from my sister, sent shortly before my first book was published. Now six years later, my T-shirts offer their own unique messages of change.

Writing has been part of my life since l was a girl. I remember the first poem I wrote, a poem called "The Sea." It captured both the beauty and the awe that the sea inspired in me. My poetry is an expression, an outlet, a burst of emotion: the good, the bad, the triumphant, and the tragic. These emotions mark our journey, make us human.
My collection captures moments from my journey, moments when words inspired me to reimagine my life. Each piece carries a unique message of possibility, of vision or beauty, courage or strength.

A friend of mine told me, “Wendy, your life
is a wonderful dream, you should share it.” A bit of wordplay led us to Wenderful Dream. And soon the same friend suggested, “Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone could have a wenderful dream each night while they slept?” How could I resist? The Wenderful Dream pyjamas were born.

I live in one of the most beautiful cities
in France, Aix-en-Provence. Aix, pronounced X, is in the south of
France. Laid back. Whimsical. Provençal. Aix is a city where people carry tote bags to the bakery and the market, to an impromptu picnic or to study at a café. Totes are as common on the streets of Aix as baguettes. With my totes, I share a part of Provence, with a dash of inspiration or a message of strength for you to take with you on your journey.
